Tomcat and stork meet mid-flight

Excitement is almost tangible in the agency air at the moment, with not one but two mothers-to-be aboard the Tomcat - Jeanene and Kim-Lee. Not wanting to pass up a makietie opportunity, the crew recently decided to throw a surprise baby shower for the young moms and their unborn sons. After much strategic planning, many secret missions and some near slips of the tongue, the big party day finally arrived. No detail had been overlooked - snacks, presents, non-alcoholic drinks for pregnant mommies and even "M" for "Martin" (Jeanene's son) and "B" for "Blake" (Kim-Lee's son) cupcakes had been carefully acquired.
Once everything had been set out and The Plan set into motion, the crew stationed themselves in the boardroom. After much anticipation and a popping balloon threatening to give the game away, the unsuspecting mothers finally opened the door, to be welcomed by the pop of a champagne cork, a slightly amended version of "Veels geluk liewe maatjie" and balloons with the words "Welcome Jeanene and Martin" and "Welcome Kim-Lee and Blake".
While the crew tucked into a lavish spread of mini hamburgers, hotdogs, sausage rolls and other lip-smacking treats, Jeanene and Kim opened a shower of presents to the oohs, aahs and broody sighs of those around. Gift bags revealed everything from teeny-tiny Springbok jerseys and teddy bear to chocolates and sweet things for the moms to enjoy. And though the party is now over and it's back to work for the Tomcat team, we're all eagerly counting down the days with Jeanene and Kim.

Living over the edge
On a recent business trip to China, an Eastern adrenaline bug specie sunk its teeth into Thomas Houghton-Dixon (Tomcat CEO) and Nico Panagio. With wobbling knees and galloping hearts, the two friends decided to brave The Macau Tower Bungy Jump. This nerve cruncher is the highest bungy jump destination in the world, measuring 233 meters in height - 17 meters higher than our very own Bloukrans. The jump was a once in a lifetime experience for both brave South Africans - one small step for man, one giant plummet for Thomas and Nico. Hats off to the two of them!

Tomcat's pro-bono campaign for SNAP
Tomcat Advertising recently put together a campaign for SNAP to increase public awareness about Autism. In South Africa, the prevalence of this development disorder has increased by 500% over the past five years - with an current statistic of 1 out of 100 children in South Africa being affected by autism.
The team worked on an array of platforms for this campaign, including print, radio and television. Have a look at the work Tomcat brought to the table:
The team worked on an array of platforms for this campaign, including print, radio and television. Have a look at the work Tomcat brought to the table:
Print

With the print ads, the team decided to mainly educate the reader about autism, and then how the reader can contribute to helping children with autism.
Radio
With the radio ad, a straight read captures the essence of the campaign.
An animation that combines the print and radio ads.
